The ArchiDok Project

The ArchiDok project is a collaborative initiative focused on archiving and providing access to electronic EU documents. It is coordinated by the European Documentation Centres (EDC) network, which consists of multiple university libraries across Europe, including Mannheim, Berlin, Cologne, and others. The goal of ArchiDok is to ensure that EU documents are easily accessible for research and reference, supporting academic and public understanding of European Union affairs.

The project is managed by key participants from various institutions, with Angelika Grund and Klaus Mayer-Dehoust at the University Library of Mannheim leading the coordination efforts. Other notable coordinators include Sabine Hertel at the University Library of the Freie Universität Berlin, Cornelia Linnartz at the University and City Library of Cologne, and Dr. Georg Winter at Danube University Krems. Each of these coordinators plays a significant role in managing and maintaining the archival resources at their respective institutions, contributing to the overall network of EDCs.

The ArchiDok project aims to enhance the availability of EU documents by leveraging digital archiving technology, making it a valuable resource for students, researchers, and the public interested in European policy and legislative matters. This initiative also involves collaboration between multiple European countries to ensure that a wide range of perspectives and information is archived comprehensively.
