In the 30 years that Steve N., creator of Raindrop Gutter Guard Systems (RGG), worked as a roofer, he came across a lot of different gutter guards, (none that worked properly) and decided to try his hand at making a gutter guard that actually kept gutters flowing properly while eliminating the pesky upkeep associated with other products. Steve made the 1st RGG prototype out of coffee stir straws, glue and blue paint. He took that first prototype to a good friend & neighbor (also a scientist at a Chicago based National Research & Development Laboratory) to see how he could improve it.
Finally... something that addressed all the gutter guard issues & performed the way Steve wanted.
December1999-The RGG came to be a reality. A final prototype, now made of polypropylene, was ready to be put into action. After rigorous testing & fine tuning, the RGG was perfected & ready to be used by anyone & everyone.
April2000-The 1st patented RGG was installed. It is still installed & working great!
