Gundlach Sheet Metal Works Inc. may be the oldest family-owned sheet metal construction company in Ohio. Founded in 1889 by Charles W. Gundlach, the Company is now managed by his great grandson Roger M. Gundlach and among its employees are several 5th generation family members.
Since the first power machinery was installed in their shop in the 1920's, the Gundlachs have catered mainly to the industrial and commercial sheet metal markets. However, during the 1970's, the Company expanded into the heating, cooling, refrigeration service business and the residential add/on replacement market. In the 1990's, a master plumber was added to the staff.
Gundlach Sheet Metal is an experienced, full line Sheet Metal / HVAC and Refrigeration contractor offering quality workmanship, competitive pricing, and design/build services.

Originally founded as the Mertz Manufacturing Co. in 1860, the company was purchased by Franklin Hohler in 1929 and became Hohler Furnace & Sheet Metal. Franklin operated the business and employed his brothers George, Leo and Paul thru the years. Franklin's son Richard took charge of the company after college and service in the Navy. Today, Frank and Rich Hohler (Richard's sons) are celebrating 30 years of owning and operating the company together. Hopefully we will have a 4th generation to continue the family business.
