Blake & Blake Blueprint & Design was founded in the mid-eighties by Darrell Blake. Up until that time, Darrell was primarily a drafter of technical drawings of home construction plans and a cost estimator of building materials and supplies.
After opening his doors for business as Blake & Blake Blueprint & Design, he continued to provide drafting services as part of his design-build contractor projects.
Throughout the 80's, Darrell also offered what was considered a valuable (and expensive) service for its time, the ability to quickly reproduce hand-drawn sets of construction plans for builders, engineers and architects. The "copies" he created were called "blueprints" because of the light-colored lines on a blue background. Hence the name "Blueprint & Design".
The "blueprint" process is now mostly obsolete, but the design, planning, project management & construction services provided by Blake & Blake Blueprint & Design are as beneficial and valuable today as they were in 1985.
