My first experience with construction started in summer 1996 in Breckenridge, Colorado. I was hired by a concrete company, perfect place to begin my career.
The end of summer, back to Minnesota to learn another facet of the construction business. After pouring concrete for a deck, the deck builder originally hired never came back. I had experience in deck building, but I wasn't confident to take on which seemed like a monumental task at the time. Nonetheless, the homeowner really needed a hand finishing this before listing his house. I agreed, and the homeowner and I went to work.
He estimated a time frame of 3 weeks to finish. We stained the newly, completed deck 8 days later.
Most of my experience came while rehabbing a 17 unit apartment complex. I worked next to the most talented craftsmen, tradesmen, and skilled laborers I know. Everyday I observed & soaked up as much knowledge as I could while honing my own skills. I was hooked, I still am
