Working with a contractor

Think over your project in detail. Before starting work, check the approved plans to make sure they fit your project exactly. Any changes to the project during construction or changes to the estimate must be documented and attached as amendments to the contract. Building permits ensure that plans and specifications comply with State Building Regulations. Inspections during and after construction will ensure that the minimum applicable code requirements are met and therefore you are protected.
