By Utah law all contractors and subcontractors performing projects in the state of Utah are required to be licensed. Enlisting the services of someone who is unlicensed may hit a homeowner with fine up to $1000. Licensing (DOPL)
DOPL investigates many illegal and unprofessional conduct. If a contractor is found guilty, DOPL may suspend or revoke the contractor's license and/or may hit their with fine of up to $ 2,000.
