Lane plumbing started by my father W.R. Lane (Bob). He was a civil Engineer from NC State. After working in construction before, during and after his call for duty in the Korean war. He had extensive knowledge in the construction industry and became a general contractor. Later he also became a plumbing contractor. In the 70s and early 80s he also ventured into residential remodeling and rentals, with great success I might add. He was building apartment buildings for HUD all over the state. During this time his sons were heavily involved working with their dad. Jim became interested in the management of construction sites and was involved in installing the utilities for the for the construction projects. which started Jims interest in plumbing. Over the next 10 years the Lanes had involvement in hundreds of projects from the new terminal C restaurants, to putting in gas lines for Hewlett Packards most advanced laboratory equipment for Hewlett Packard. Jim licensed in 1986.
