Established in 1986 The Durable Slate company was founded in 1986 in Columbus, Ohio. It has since opened offices in Cincinnati (1996), Cleveland (1999), New Orleans (2005), and Rockville (2012). The business has expanded greatly due to our dedication to our extensive training program. It has helped us garner such awards as the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) Gold Circle Award for Project of the Year numerous times as well as the Better Business Bureau's (BBB) International Award for Marketplace Ethics. John Chan, one of the owner's of the company, serves as the President of the National Slate Association (NSA) and Gary Howes, Executive Vice President, serves as Chairman of the Board of the Slate Roofing Contractor's Association (SRCA).
