M & J Construction of Moorhead, Inc. formally M & J Roofing has been in business since 1966 in the Fargo - Moorhead area. Mark Spriggs worked alongside his father in-law for 25 years making M & J a well known construction company. Mark purchased the company in 2006 and has continued to provide great customer service and care for the projects he and his team work on. Mark has volunteered his time and helped with a wheelchair accessibility ramp for the HBA of F-M's Remodelers Council. Vision Home Inspectors is locally owned by Eric C. Through training and education, Eric has been certified by the American Home Inspectors Training Institute. Eric has met all requirements to be a member in good standing of InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors.) Eric is also registered with the state of North Dakota as a certified home inspector (there currently is no registration process in Minnesota.)
Eric also has years of experience in countless areas of remodeling and renovating homes. Some of the fields that Eric has hands on experience in include plumbing, electrical, roofing, framing, siding and window installation, properly insulating and venting a home and many more.
Before hiring a contractor, be sure to verify the contractor is being properly licensed In compliance with state law requirements. These three tips may provide you avoid a scam:
if your project cost is valued at $4,000 or more you must hire a contractor being licensed by the Secretary of State. To verify if a contractor's license is an active, use Licensed Contractor list.
Any contractor or service provider that has a license issued outside the jurisdiction of the state of North Dakota must have a Transient Merchant License issued by the Attorney General. Be sure to Search the list of licensed Transient Merchants.
If all the required licenses are an active, be sure to obtain a signed contract which specifies the project details being done.
You shouldn't make down payments more than 1/3 of the contract price.
You should not make full payment until after all the work and official inspection have been properly completed .
