Bramwell-McKay Masonry Restoration, Education and Consulting was founded in Southern Indiana over 25 years ago. Our first projects consisted of the construction of foundations, laying brick and stone on new homes and the rebuilding of limestone retaining walls, foundation repair and chimney restoration.
It didn't take long to realize the correlation between masonry failure and water. By the early 90's, the study of the relationship between masonry and water became of great interest. Teaching others became a passion. We have been fortunate to have lectured several times at the World of Masonry Show in Las Vegas, teaching AIA accredited courses to Architects, Engineers, and other fellow tradesmen on the causes of masonry failures. We have been guest speakers for Indiana Historic Landmarks, discussing the proper and improper methods for historic masonry restoration, and have written articles on the subject for the National Masonry Magazine.
