Terry Smith opened American Plumbing in September 1989 serving the East Baton Rouge and Ascension areas. The owner grew up in the plumbing industry and stayed in the plumbing industry. He was 10 years old the first time he helped his dad on his plumbing service repair truck.
After nearly 10 years of experience in residential and commercial new construction, repairs and service work, it was time for A.S.I. Plumbing to open it's doors. A Louisiana state contractor’s license/registration is required if contractor performs work with total project value over the minimum threshold to hold a commercial license, residential license, mold remediation license, or an home improvement registration in the state of Louisiana.
By Louisiana law contractors need to get a home improvement registration to perfrom any home improvement projects over $7,500 but not in excess of $75,000 including labor and materials. Contractor's registration is valid for one year once it is issued. A home improvement registration does NOT cover swimming pools.
