This business was started by my father Jose Chavez Senior, in 1974 to 2007 until he passed away.He always kept it as a family business,taking all his kids to work,teaching us all that he knew about trees.My fathers business was a success.People loved his work,but after he passed there was only one decision to make...would his name end here or will some one hold up his crown and keep his business going.In 2008,I,Jose Chavez Jr,decided to honor his name by taking over his business.Not only by working,but by making it bigger, getting more work trucks, equipment,clients,but most of all,the clean name that he had by doing the best work that I can & making clients happy & not rushing to other jobs,not making a mess,but by making the surrounded trees better looking and healthier.So i did!i got trucks & good equipment,but most of all HEART for this business.In 2011,i gave it the name of "One Day Tree Service" a family business & in 2008 a new chapter began! 2012 im taking it to the next level!

In 1979 I launched my tree business in Ventura County where I was then living and discovered that climbing trees for a living is physically challenging, sometimes difficult but always fun. I took advantage of the local College course in Arborculture (the science and art of maintaining trees) to inform my interest as I cut my teeth in tree care for 3 years before relocating to Los Angeles where I got my California State Contractors License (#740167) and tested for and was awarded the designation of Certified Arborist (# WE-8830A) by The International Society of Arborists of which I am a member of both the National and Western branches. In addition, I am a TRACE (Tree Risk Analysis and Comprehensive Evaluation) Certified Assessor. Active in ongoing education, I attend lectures, workshops and classes designed to further my base of knowledge. I am a member of the Tree Care Industry Alliance as well.
