I started working as a part time plumber's helper during the day while I worked in restaurants at night 20 years ago. 16 years ago it turned into my full time job. By Louisiana law contractors need to get a home improvement registration to perfrom any home improvement projects over $7,500 but not in excess of $75,000 including labor and materials. Contractor's registration is valid for one year once it is issued. A home improvement registration does NOT cover swimming pools.
